Estate Litigation. Appellate Advocacy.
Sean Tee is an Articling Student at Tupman & Bloom LLP. He received his LL.M from Osgoode Hall Law School and an LL.B from the University of Liverpool, England, where he achieved a First Class Honours.
Since his arrival in Canada in 2019, Sean hit the ground running by interning and shadowing a sole practitioner at a litigation boutique in Ontario on top of pursuing his LL.M and his part-time job at York University simultaneously. Through said internship, Sean gained invaluable experience in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents. His subsequent role at Arbitration Place in 2020 allowed him to actively assist arbitrators, justices, counsel and witnesses alike in virtual legal proceedings, which he saw as an opportunity to observe litigation lawyers in action on top of carrying out his duties. Prior to joining Tupman & Bloom LLP in 2022, Sean also dabbled in Securities Law at Davies Ward Phillip & Vineberg.
In law school, Sean was very active in the mooting scene. He was a semifinalist at his university’s Bar Society Internal Mooting Competition and a quarterfinalist at the Advocacy Society Speed Mooting Competition. Sean also represented the University of Liverpool in the national Leicester Medical Law Mooting in 2017, competing against the best teams from law schools all over the United Kingdom. While juggling between his mooting commitments and his pursuit of a First Class Honours in his studies, Sean was also a seasoned delegate in Model UN conferences. He was the recipient of the Highest Commendation Award at the Malaysian National Model UN Conference in 2016. It was from participating in Model UN conferences in law school that Sean first developed his deep interest in advocacy.
During his spare time, Sean enjoys listening to song covers and analyzing different singing styles while exploring and developing his own, and occasionally singing.
