Jessica is an associate lawyer at Tupman & Bloom LLP. She joined the firm in 2021 after practicing at a boutique firm in Toronto where she focused exclusively on estates, trusts, and capacity litigation. Jessica has represented clients at all levels of court in Ontario. Jessica also acts as the firm’s Director of Student Programs and participates in the recruitment and hiring of summer and articling students.
Jessica summered and articled at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer where she gained experience in the areas of estates, trusts, civil litigation, and family law. She then returned as counsel where she represented child clients in child protection and high conflict custody and access matters, as well as assisting with appeals. Jessica also summered at the Ministry of the Attorney General – Crown Law Office Civil, where she worked on complex civil litigation matters and inquests.
Jessica obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School. While at Osgoode, she was a caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services where she represented clients before the Social Benefits Tribunal. She was a Dean’s Fellow for civil procedure and was elected as president of the Osgoode Women’s Network, which is the largest student group at Osgoode. Prior to attending Osgoode, she received her Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies specializing in Consumer Behaviour from Western University.
Jessica is a member of the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society and the Junior Trusts and Estates Practitioners Group (JTEP). She is also an executive member of the Toronto branch of the Women’s Legal Action & Education Fund (LEAF).
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, and watching documentaries about true crime or the environment.
