Lionel is a Partner at Tupman & Bloom LLP. His practice focuses on estate, trust and capacity litigation and civil litigation matters, including professional liability, breach of trust and administrative litigation with a particular focus on matters involving breaches of fiduciary obligations.
Lionel regularly appears before all levels of Courts in Ontario including the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He is called to the bar in Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, British Columbia and Alberta. He has appeared as counsel in courts across Canada.
Lionel has experience as counsel in a broad range of litigation matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice, commercial litigation and administrative judicial reviews. Within the estate and trust litigation field, Lionel has argued numerous leading cases related to Will challenges, testamentary and inter vivos undue influence, resulting trusts, and contested passings of accounts.
In his spare time, Lionel was nominated as a candidate for provincial parliament in the Niagara Falls Riding in 2014, and he remains active in politics at the provincial and federal levels.
Lionel is also a former professional bagpiper and saxophonist. He continues to play music for charity events with his nearly all-lawyer blues band, “Oui B Jamon”.
