Devin practices simultaneously in both Ontario and British Columbia, having been called to the bar in 2020 in Ontario and thereafter in 2022 in British Columbia. He has had reported decision in both provinces (along with many more unreported decisions and many more settlements of matters before any court adjudication), including the following:
Gefen v. Gaertner, 2021 ONCA 631 (CanLII)
Jones v. Jones, 2022 ONSC 5013 (CanLII)

“Legal Indigestion: Public Understanding of Resulting Trusts”, Estates, Trusts and Pensions Journal (sole author)
“Passing Accounts Through Time”, Estates, Trusts and Pensions Journal (co-author along with Lionel J. Tupman)
Devin’s specialization is estate litigation, as is the specialization of Tupman & Bloom LLP, but he also advises on estate and trust administration and the drafting of wills and powers of attorney.
Devin received his Bachelor of Arts Honours degree (History) from the University of Northern British Columbia. While completing his undergraduate studies, he played varsity basketball for the Langara Falcons and University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves. Devin then completed a Master’s degree in history at Queen’s University.
Devin obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa. While there, Devin was an executive of the Common Law Students Society; his role was Athletics, organizing events and fundraisers for students, as well as intramural teams representing the Common Law faculty.
In his spare time, Devin enjoys sports, board games, and reading. He is also fluent in both English and French.
